2020, what a year

Well one thing is for certain, 2020 will certainly be memorable! 

Back in March, we were faced with effectively being shut down due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Lockdown was imminent and we were unable to perform our many face to face to parties that we had in the diary. We were, as many other performers, actors and creative people, adverstely affected. Devastated.

Then a glimmer of hope emerged. We noticed that other entertainers were performing via Zoom! Having never been on Zoom before myself, I had to learn the ropes. Luckily, my wife had been using it loads already for work, so she gave me a much needed tutorial. And so the Online Party for Nutty's was born.

Cue frantic web page creating, adding SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) links, promoting on social media and before we knew it, we were up and running. We also created loads of 'Boredom Busting Videos' with my daughter, Lola, for free on Facebook and did regular Adventure Parties also for free on Facebook Live.

Then suddenly, it was the summer and government restrictions were lifted, so we ran an After School club, then our Summer Holiday Club in West Norwood for 6 weeks! With that and an amazing residency at Cloud Nine Glamping in Dorset, plus some outdoor, face to face parties and still doing our Online Parties/virtual parties, things were suddenly crazy for us- in a good way! 

Then the Rule of Six/lockdown 2 came in and we felt like we were back to square one. Well, back to Zoom parties! 

We've really loved doing virtual parties. It's been great fun and a real learing curve. We're also really proud of what we've achieved, despite the overall restructions. But it's nowhere near as fun as face to face parties and events. Having the kids on mute most of the time for logistical reasons isn't quite the same as having that live, crazy banter in a home, communuty centre or park.

But needs must and we really can't wait to get back out there in the real world in 2021.

It's been challenging, stressful, rewarding, hard work, fulfiling, worrying, creative and above all, unique! Most of all, it's felt like a very long year and we realy cannot wait for 2021 as we truly beleive it will be an amazing year. Not just for Nutty's, but for all of us.
